About Danielle Lerner

Danielle Lerner joined the KSBY Action News team in February of 2008. Danielle is a general assignment reporter working in KSBY’s Santa Maria Bureau.

Most recently Danielle graduated magna cum laude with a Masters of Science in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in December of 2007.

While Danielle was at Northwestern, she worked as a Chicago and Washington D.C. correspondent for the Medill News Service. Danielle produced broadcast, print and radio pieces for client news stations around the country including WTVQ in Montana and News 2 in the Virgin Islands.

In March of 2007, Danielle interned at WBBM CBS2 in Chicago with CBS2 investigative reporter, Dave Savini. Together they produced award winning stories on security at O’Hare airport, police abuse and faulty fire hydrants throughout Illinois.

Danielle studied Mass Communications and English Writing and Spanish (Danielle is fluent in English and Spanish) at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 2006.

Danielle’s favorite part of reporting is meeting new people every day and telling their stories.

Danielle likes to volunteer with community organizations; she served as a summer camp counselor with the Boys and Girls Club and currently volunteers at the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.

Danielle enjoys the beach, playing sports and spending time with friends and family.

I’ve switched over. Following the olympics, I’ve been watching your 11:00 news. I’m giving up on channel 12, they are very unpersonable. Your smile is contagious and you can keep me tuned in thoughout the broadcast.

danielle,what school in the valley did you graduate from and once again you are the most beautiful newscaster on the central coast and I usually dont make comments like that.because my handsome pitbull takes up all my time.I love animals too Danielle and you are also very nice,met you briefly once when you were covering a story thanks to all the great ksby staff.
